Care plans

We don’t drop the mic once the performance is over.

A website is not finished at launch, it is just open. Hosting, updates, backups, security and a human to email when something needs changing. That is what a care plan is.

Why this exists

Websites rot quietly.

Nothing dramatic happens. WordPress updates, a plugin stops being maintained, an image-heavy page creeps past four seconds, an SSL certificate lapses on a Sunday. None of it announces itself.

What you notice, months later, is that enquiries have thinned out and nobody can say when it started. Almost every "our website has stopped working for us" call we get is a site nobody was looking after.

Speed

Decays by defaultEvery plugin, image and tracking script added after launch costs you load time. Somebody has to be watching that number.

Security

Is a maintenance jobOut-of-date WordPress installs are the most common way small business sites get compromised. The fix is unglamorous and continuous.

Backups

Only count if testedPlenty of businesses discover their backups were failing at exactly the moment they need one.

The plans

Three levels of looking after.

Every site we build comes with aftercare included for the first stretch. After that, one of these keeps it running properly. No contracts, no notice periods, cancel whenever you like.

Questions

The things worth checking.

Am I tied in?

No. It is month to month, and you can stop whenever you like. We would rather keep earning it. If you do leave, the site is yours and we will help you move it somewhere else without any drama.

Can you look after a site you did not build?

Often, yes. It depends what it is built on and what state it is in. Send us the address and we will tell you honestly whether we can support it well, whether it needs work first, or whether you would genuinely be better off elsewhere.

What counts as a content change?

Text edits, swapping images, adding a page, updating prices, putting up a new job advert. The everyday things. Anything that is really a new feature or a redesign we would quote separately, and we will always tell you which side of the line something falls before doing it.

What happens if the site goes down?

We find out before you do, because uptime monitoring is on every plan. Most problems are fixed before anyone notices. If something serious happens, we restore from backup, which is why we test them rather than just taking them.

Is hosting really any different between providers?

Enormously, and it shows up in your load time and therefore your rankings. Cheap shared hosting puts your site on a machine with hundreds of others and you inherit their bad days. Ours is like a digital bouncer at an exclusive club: nothing slow gets in.

Want your site properly looked after?

Tell us where it is hosted now and what it is built on. We’ll tell you what it needs and what that costs.
