Ranking across the border
If you serve both Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, the site has to be built to rank in both. Most are not, and quietly lose half their potential market to a structural decision nobody made on purpose.
Web design · Derbyshire
North Derbyshire businesses serving two counties at once, plus everyone heading for the Peak District. There is more to rank for here than most local firms use.
Chesterfield businesses
Chesterfield businesses tend to work in two directions at once: south and west into Derbyshire, and north into Sheffield and South Yorkshire. Markham Vale and the M1 corridor have pulled in a serious amount of industry, while the town itself still runs on independents, trades and professional firms.
Then there is the Peak District on the doorstep, which shapes a whole tier of local business, from hospitality and holiday lets to outdoor trades and everything that services visitors. Very few Chesterfield websites are built to catch more than one of these markets.
What you actually get
If you serve both Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, the site has to be built to rank in both. Most are not, and quietly lose half their potential market to a structural decision nobody made on purpose.
For anyone touching tourism, hospitality or the Peak District trade, seasonal search is a big share of the year’s enquiries. It rewards a site that is genuinely fast on a phone with a poor signal.
Chesterfield has a strong independent scene, which is lovely and also means you are compared against neighbours constantly. A site that looks properly considered does a lot of quiet work here.

What it costs
Most land between £5k and £9k depending on how much the site has to do. You get the exact number before anyone starts work, and it does not move unless you ask for something new.

Questions
Yes, and it is worth planning for from the outset. Ranking in two areas is not a matter of listing both town names on the homepage; it needs the site structured so each area has something genuine to rank with. Done properly it roughly doubles the market the site can reach.
It changes the priorities. Speed on a mobile matters more than usual, because a lot of your visitors are on a phone somewhere with two bars. Booking or enquiring needs to take seconds. And the site needs to be ready before the season starts, not during it.
Twenty-five minutes down the A61, so no. Happy to come to you if a face-to-face is useful, and equally happy to do the whole thing over calls if that suits you better.
