Pricing

What a website actually costs.

Most agencies make you sit through a call to find out. Here are the numbers. If they are more than you wanted to spend, at least you found out in ten seconds rather than ten days.

Websites

Three starting points.

Every one grows with you. These are floors, not ceilings: the exact number depends on how much the site has to do, and you get it in writing before anyone starts work.

Where the number comes from

Four things move the price. Nothing else does.

No mystery multipliers, no "it depends" as a complete answer. If your quote is at the higher end, it will be because of one or more of these, and we will say which.

01

How many pagesNot just the count. Ten pages that each need thinking about is a bigger job than forty that share three layouts.

02

Who writes the wordsIf your copy is ready, we move fast. If it needs writing, that is real work and it is where a lot of projects quietly stall.

03

What it has to connect toA brochure site is straightforward. Booking, payments, stock, a CRM or a client portal each add genuine build time.

04

How competitive your market isRanking a landscaper in Barnsley and ranking a law firm in Leeds are not the same job, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

SEO

Three ways to do this properly.

The audit is a fixed price. The ongoing work starts where it starts and moves with how contested your patch turns out to be. Month to month either way, with no tie-in and no notice period.

Questions

What everyone asks about cost.

Why do you publish prices when most agencies do not?

Because hiding them wastes everyone’s time. If £3k is well beyond what you had in mind, you should be able to find that out without booking a call and sitting through a pitch. It also means the enquiries we do get are from people who already know roughly what this costs, which makes for a much better first conversation.

Is that the final price, or does it creep?

It is the price. You get an exact figure in writing before anyone starts, and it does not move unless you ask for something that was not in the scope. If you do ask, we tell you what it adds before we do it, not on the invoice.

Why is £3k the floor?

Below that we cannot do the strategy, the bespoke design and the conversion work properly, and a website that skips those is the thing you are trying to get away from. If your budget is genuinely smaller, tell us. There is a sensible way to get you online now and grow into the rest, and we would rather do that than sell you a worse version of the real thing.

Do you take payment in stages?

Yes. Normally a deposit to book the work in, and the balance on launch. For the larger builds we split it across milestones. Nobody is expected to hand over the full amount up front.

What are the ongoing costs after launch?

Hosting and care, which is where the site gets kept fast, updated, backed up and secure. That is the only recurring cost unless you have taken on SEO or one of the intelligent butler capabilities. Details on the care plans page.

Is a cheaper website ever the right answer?

Sometimes, yes. If you are testing an idea, or the website genuinely is not where your growth is coming from, spending £5k on one would be daft. We will say so. We would rather have the honest conversation and pick the work back up in two years than take money for something that will not pay you back.

Worth it?

People who paid it.
