The material, shown properly
Bespoke work sells on texture, edge detail and the way light sits across a surface. That needs real photography, shown large, on a site built to display it at size rather than crop it into a thumbnail.
Websites · by trade
Furniture, worktops, joinery, stone and metalwork. Work that is decided on how it looks and bought on whether someone believes it is worth the money.

Why it matters in your trade
Your work used to be decided on in a showroom, with someone running a hand along the edge of it. Now it is decided on a phone, at eleven at night, alongside six other tabs. Somebody is working out whether what you make is worth two thousand pounds or twenty, and the only evidence they have is how it looks on a screen the size of a beermat.
That is a photography problem before it is a website problem, and a positioning problem before either. Bespoke work dropped onto a generic template gets compared to the catalogue option on price, and price is the one comparison you cannot win.
What you actually get
Bespoke work sells on texture, edge detail and the way light sits across a surface. That needs real photography, shown large, on a site built to display it at size rather than crop it into a thumbnail.
Someone planning a kitchen and a fit-out contractor pricing a bar are not the same buyer and should not be reading the same pages. Splitting the routes early means neither has to wade through the other’s information to find theirs.
Makers lose whole days quoting for people who had laminate money in mind. Being straight about where you start, and what a piece actually involves, costs you nothing you were ever going to win.

One we built
A material-led site for an artisan concrete studio, with domestic and commercial kept on separate routes.

Most land between £5k and £9k depending on how much the site has to do. You get the exact number before anyone starts work. And if you are just getting going, say so, there is a sensible way to start smaller.
Questions
Not a price list, but a starting point, yes. “Worktops typically start around X” turns a week of tyre-kicking into a handful of serious conversations, and the people who were never going to spend it leave without ever taking up your afternoon.
More than the design does. We can build you something beautiful and it will still fall flat if the photographs make a hand-finished surface look like a garage floor. If the imagery is not there yet, that is the first conversation rather than an afterthought, and it is something we can sort out.
No, and trying will mean you stop after four. A dozen pieces shown properly, with the brief, the awkward bit and the finish, does far more than sixty gallery images with no context attached to any of them.
Yes, and it usually should. One brand, one standard of work, two routes through it. What does not work is a single set of pages trying to address both at once, which tends to convince neither.
